Enterprise Governace

Governance and its significance

Governance main benefit is aligning IT strategy with business strategy, this can be done by following a formal framework that will help in making measurable results to make sure that the organization’s work is on track towards achieving its strategy and goals. This governance framework will take into consideration the interests of stakeholders and the needs of employees. To sum it up governance will help executive management to ensure that the strategy and objectives are achieved and that the resources are used properly.

Governance has many advantages for both public and private-sector organizations of all sizes:

à        Improve efficiency and reduce operational costs

à        Greater visibility

à        Better service and customer experience

à        Improve collaboration within and across business functions

à        Improve accountability

How we implement governance framework

We help enterprises decide which framework is better for their needs and strategies. We have experts in all internationally known frameworks that will help in achieving the desired results.

The framework we can implement:

COBIT: is globally accepted practices and analytical tools that were designed for management and governance purposes. With the latest version of this framework (COBIT 2019) it fully supports IT governance with focus on risk management.

The COBIT framework plays nicely with other IT management frameworks such as ITILCMMI and TOGAF:

ITIL: the main focus here is IT service management (ITSM). ITIL has five management best practices: strategy, design, transition, operation and continual service improvement.

CMMI: The Capability Maturity Model Integration was designed to improve performance. This model uses a scale of 1 to 5 to assess the performance of the organization, its profitability and quality.

By applying one of the previous frameworks the senior management will be able to know how IT department is functioning in general, key metrics management needs to be aware of and what IT is giving back to the enterprise from its investments.

It is important to note that applying more than one framework can result in better management and governance. For instance, COBIT and ITIL can be applied together to get the benefits of both of them. COBIT explains why something is done or needed, while ITIL on the other hand provides the "how."
